Freeriding/Deep Snow

Newschool skiing is a type of alpine skiing, which involves advanced tricks, jumps, and terrain park features, such as rails. This form of skiing resulted from a combination of the growth in popularity of snowboarding as well as the progression of Freestyle skiing. "Newschoolers", or those who specifically ski in this style (as opposed to traditional freestylers, big mountain skiers, racers, etc.) are often found in terrain parks, which are designed specifically for tricks.

Skitouring

Skiing ungroomed snow including backcountry skiing, where you break your own trail. Skis require the use of climbing skins. Ski some chutes, trees, big bumps and runs not to be found on the map. Your certified ski guide will provide a few specific pointers along the way.

Offerings change daily due to snow  and weather conditions!

Dachstein crossing

We start this special ski tour on the Styrian side by enjoying the ascent of the Dachstein massiv by Dachstein cablecar to almost 2.700 meters above sea level. Please note, that despite the easy access we will be in high alpine terrain. The crossover covers a stretch of 20 km, mostly deep snow slopes and downhill runs to Obertraun in Upper Austria. A shuttle will be expecting us to take us back to Flachau.
As a special treat for expert skiers we will run the “Edelgriess”, a legendary freeride winter feeling at 1.600 m heigth in fluffy white powder and stunning views in spectacular nature.
